WALKING TOUR AROUND NATIONAL PARK

Plitvice hiking

While most of the usual excursions to Plitvice enable you to spend 3 to 4 hours there seeing only a small part of it, we propose you instead a 6 to 7 hours easy walk led by a licensed mountain guide that will take you around all of the 16 main lakes, their beautiful waterfalls and travertine barriers.

Years and years of hiking across the national park taught us a lot. We have designed an exclusive itinerary in order to avoid the crowds and waiting lines as much as possible.

Such enchanting walk will allow you to fully enjoy the fauna and flora of this natural wonder and its exceptional beauty where you can take as many photos as you like. We will then climb up to the sightseeing points where very few go.

NATIONAL PARK

Plitvice Lakes

UPPER AND LOWER LAKES

There are sixteen lakes in Plitvice Lakes National Park and they are divided into Upper and Lower Lakes. Water comes from the rivers called Crna rijeka (the biggest one), Bijela rijeka and Rječica but also from many subterranean sources. After falling down in waterfals the lake waters flow into the Korana River.

VELIKI SLAP

Veliki slap or Great Waterfall is the biggest waterfall in Plitvice Lakes National Park and most certanly the most beautiful place in the park. It is the part of Lower Lakes. From the height of 78m water falls down to the Korana River making an amasing and unforgetable scenery.

KOZJAK LAKE

Kozjak Lake is the deepest and the largest of all Plitvice Lakes. Legend says it is named after the Croatian word for goat – koza. Kozjak Lake is situted between the Upper and Lower Lakes and in the middle of the lake there is an islet called Štefanijin otok. If you want to experience the beauty of this magical place take a boat ride on the lake and you’ll make memories for a lifetime.
