The island, which inspires with its natural beauty as well as preserved traditions, is considered to be a suburb of the city of Zadar as it lies just opposite to it. The island of Ugljan has plenty of bays, beaches and small fishing villages spread along the coast that keeps the secret about their past and the hard life of fishermen.

Island extends alongside with the mainland part of Biograd riviera enclosing one of the most beautiful straits – Pašman channel. Picturesque fishing ports, great evergreen areas and sandy beaches follow one another along the beautiful sunny coastline. In an environment overfilled with wonders of nature, one can hardly isolate the crown jewel. Nevertheless, common opinion is that unique Kornati archipelago in the vicinity of Pašman is the real crown made of 147 silver pieces – islands. Pašman is separated from Zadar and Biograd by Pašman channel, along which, like a neckless of pearls, are dispersed dozens of little islands. The sea currents in the strait change course every six hours, making the sea water here the cleanest in the Adriatic. On its’ 60 square kilometers of surface area the island provides proofs about continuity of living from prehistory.
The island known as an oasis of peace for travellers giving them an overwhelming experience of relaxation and spiritual and physical rest. This island still has its „wild side” as a true evidence of the constant activities of unstoppable forces of nature – the sea and the wind. We take you to Sali, a place of a thousand-years-old fishing tradition where ancient olive groves surrounding the village witness the intensive agricultural activities throughout the centuries. In the olive grove Saljsko polje olive trees are 700 years old and represent a unique ecological area in this region. In Nature park Telašćica natures contrast is expressed with peaceful bays and rugged cliffs, pine and oak forests, cultivated fields of vineyards and olive-trees, as well as the area of rocky meadows. You will see one of the most beautiful beaches in Croatia: Beach Saharun. It is a 800m long sandy beach and is surrounded by Mediterranean vegetation. Lighthouse Veli Rat was built in 1849 and it is 42 meters high and today it is the highest lighthouse in the Adriatic. In the courtyard of the lighthouse is the chapel of St. Nicholas, a place increasingly in demand for organization of a romantic wedding.
