SEA ORGAN
Sea Organ is an architectural masterpiece. It combines music, architecture and art. The installation is made of the underwater tubes and cavities. Depending on the sea currents and winds, the water enters the tubes making amazing sounds; hence the name Sea Organ. The author of this piece of art is Croatian architect Nikola Bašić. Do not leave Zadar before you visit Sea Organ!
RIVA
Riva or main sea promenade is place where local people come for a walk and to enjoy beautiful view over the Zadar Channel and fresh air. Promenade was built in 19th century when fortification walls were torn down. At the same time was built the large pier for coastal steamships. Riva was a place were social life took place until the bombardment in the World War II. Most of the buildings were destroyed and later reconstructed. If you come to Zadar, you certainly must take a walk around Riva!
GREETING TO THE SUN
Like Sea Organ this installation is also located in Zadar promenade, called "Riva". Greeting to the Sun is made of 300 glass plates. During the day these plates absorb solar energy and produce spectacular light show after dark. Make sure you visit it and enjoy stunning colours of Zadar sunset!
