ZADAR CITY BRIDGE

City bridge connects peninsula with the new parts of the town. Originally, the bridge was built in 1928. and destroyed during bombing in 1944. In 1949. floating bridge on brass barrels was built on the same place. But that bridge was very unstable, especially during strong winds so the completely new bridge was built in 1962. Today it is a pedestrian bridge, 152m long and 6m wide.

FOŠA

Foša is small city port. It is located on the northwest part of the old town, on the place where once was a ditch. The ditch was filled in in the late 19th century and later became what we now know as a port. Kopnena vrata (Land Gate) in the port is the main entrance into the city and one of the most famous Renaissance monuments.

RIVA

Riva or main sea promenade is place where local people come for a walk and to enjoy beautiful view over the Zadar Channel and fresh air. Promenade was built in 19th century when fortification walls were torn down. At the same time was built the large pier for coastal steamships. Riva was a place were social life took place and it was so until the bombardment in Worl War II. Most of the buildings were destroyed and later reconstructed. If you come to Zadar, you certainly must take a walk around Riva!
